MnDOT notes road work for opener
ST. PAUL - Anglers heading out to the lakes for Minnesota's fishing opener are urged to check traffic reports before driving.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation said the state's 511 road information tool is valuable to plan the trip to your favorite fishing hole or other destination.
Motorists may encounter delays in several areas across the state and should be prepared for slower moving traffic.
To avoid delays, MnDOT advises motorists to call 5-1-1 or go to www.511mn.org to get advance information about road construction and detours.
Here are some spots that may produce delays:
- Highway 371 from Pequot Lakes to south of Pine River
- Highway 11 east of Baudette
- U.S. Highway 2 bypass in Bemidji
- Highway 169 in Grand Rapids
