BEMIDJI -- Logan Kalis posted a career day and lifted the Bemidji State baseball team to a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference doubleheader sweep of Southwest Minnesota State Tuesday at the BSU Baseball Field.

Kalis went 7-for-9 with 10 RBIs, seven runs scored and four homers at the plate and got the win on the mound in game two, as the Beavers won 8-1 in game one and 14-8 in game two to surpass 20 wins in 2012.

The Beavers are 21-25 overall, becoming the sixth team in program history to reach 20 wins in a season. The wins move them into the fifth spot on the program's all-time wins list.

The two wins Tuesday also moved the Beavers from 10th to seventh in the NSIC standings with a 14-18 conference mark. The top six-best winning percentages in league games make the NSIC postseason tournament. BSU has four games remaining in 2012; they'll play at Northern State May 5-6.

Kalis hit two bombs in each game, the first three being 2-run shots and the last a solo blast to left field. He entered the doubleheader tied for 11th in the NSIC in home runs with six, but now his 10 dingers ties him for first among his league opponents. The junior righty also hurled a complete game victory in game two to improve to 3-6 in 2012.

The twin bill wrapped-up the 2012 home slate for the Beavers, as the squad posted an 8-12 record at BSU Baseball Field.

In game one, Kalis guided the Beavers' nine hits by going 3-for-4 with four RBIs and three runs scored. The other six hits were spread out evenly among the BSU lineup.

Jaryd Marks (4-2) got the win for the Beavers. He allowed the one run (unearned) on six hits with six strikeouts and two walks.

In game two, Kalis allowed eight runs (six earned) on 13 hits with five strikeouts, while going 4-for-5 with six RBIs and four runs scored. Marks posted a 4-for-6 performance at the plate with four RBIs.

Dylan Webb went 4-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored, while Riley Hirsch recorded a 3-for-5 game at the plate with three runs and two RBIs and Trevor Purvis also posted three hits, as he went 3-for-4 with a run scored.
