Bemidji football standout Carey Woods verbally commits to NDSU

Bemidji High School senior wide receiver and defensive back Carey Woods Jr. verbally committed to the North Dakota State University football program Friday.

Woods, who was also courted by UND and many NCAA Division II schools, will receive a full-ride scholarship to attend NDSU and play football for the Bison.

"Since the first time NDSU offered me the scholarship I knew I was going there. I just wanted to see how everything else would go before I committed," Woods said.

Bemidji High School football coach Troy Hendricks said that NDSU is the perfect fit for Woods.

"Carey will be challenged at NDSU but if he puts in the effort he will be successful," Hendricks said. "We are very happy for Carey and very excited."
