BSU falls to Bulldogs

Minnesota-Duluth defeated the Bemidji State women's soccer team Friday afternoon 4-1 at BSU soccer field.

The Bulldogs pulled away from a 1-1 halftime tie with three goals in the second half.

Mary O'Brien scored Bemidji State's lone goal midway through the first half off a corner kick. Kari McAllen sent the ball toward the net, Mari Wallestad directed the ball with her head and O'Brien finished the play.

BSU goalie Abby Kjonaas had eight saves and UMD goalie Hanna Iaizzo had 14 saves.

Dani Potter, Jennifer Smith, Maureen Stormont and Reegan Lloyd scored for the Bulldogs.

The loss drops BSU's record to 6-7-2 (5-4-2 NSIC) and improves the Bulldogs record to 8-5-1 (8-3-0 NSIC).

The Beavers have Saturday off and host Minot State (6-6-0) 1 p.m. Sunday in a non-conference game.
