Bemidji State softball team loses two at Concordia

The Bemidji State softball team fell in both games of a doubleheader Friday afternoon at Concordia-St. Paul by scores of 5-1 and 10-2.

Both games saw the Beavers notch seven hits, but were outpaced by the Golden Bears 20 total hits.

In game one of the afternoon's doubleheader, left-handed pitcher Kelsey Saralampi pitched six innings for the Beavers only conceding one earned run off of eight hits.

Crystal Bowen led the Beavers in the hitting going 2-for-3. Bowen also recorded her second RBI of the season in the top of the fourth inning scoring Nicole Dupay for the lone BSU run.

The other Bemidji State hits came from Danika Stelton, Hayley Williams, Megan Beard, Kayla Babinski and Courtney Loegering.

The second game saw the Beavers score two runs off seven hits. Both BSU runs would come in the top of the fourth inning.

Chelsea Cardinal's double scored Kayla Minarich and Babinski's double scored Minarich.

Bemidji State's Loegering, Dupay and Stelton all had one hit apiece in the contest.

Bemidji State (2-20, 1-13 NSIC) will face the St. Cloud State Huskies (19-24, 4-14 NSIC) Saturday in St. Cloud. The conference doubleheader is slated to begin at 1 p.m.
