Bemidji meets the challenge

When the season began Bemidji wrestling coach Rance Bahr challenged his athletes to double last year's dual-meet victory total of six. Friday night at St. Cloud Apollo the Lumberjacks successfully completed that challenge as their 45-22 win improved the record to 12-8.

Bemidji has a chance to add a few more victories to the total today when it will compete in three dual meets at the Blaine Invitational.

At Apollo the Jacks won 10 of the 14 individual matches, including pins by Colton Doty at 140, Nick Maggert at 215 and Alex Johnson at heavyweight.

Brian Maas recorded a technical fall at 112 while Jake Crosby and Craig Maas contributed major decisions at 130 and 135.

Posting decision wins were Logan Crosby at 119, Tyler Molitor at 171 and Brenden Fredrickson at 189 while Tyler O'Bierne was awarded a forfeit victory.
