Bemidji HS gymnastics team reaches 131.4

Jessi Bergquist placed fourth with an All-Around score of 33.85 to lead the Bemidji gymnastics team to third place at Friday's Alexandria Invitational.

The Lumberjacks also recorded their highest team score of the season when they reached 131.4. New London Spicer won the meet with 138.45 and Alexandria was second at 132.65. Frazee trailed the field at 97.85.

On way to her fourth place in the All-Around Bergquist tied for first on the balance beam with a score of 8.9.

"Finishing in a tie for first on the balance beam is a great accomplishment and an 8.9 on the beam is a very good score," said Jacks coach Don Papreck.

"The kids performed very well," the coach added.

Bergquist also placed sixth on the floor (8.65), ninth on the vault (8.7) and 10th on the bars (7.6).

Brooke Beck was sixth in the All-Around at 33.0. Her top individual finish was third on the beam at 8.1.

Katie Jensen finished ninth in the All-Around with a 30.8. Her best event finish was fifth on the vault (8.9).

Alyshia Moe placed 10th in the All-Around at 30.45. Her best individual event was the vault where she was sixth with a score of 8.8.
