Bemidji Speedway played host to the Wissota Mod Fours and Mini Stocks Sunday night for a Fourth of July special. Joining the Mod Fours and Minis were the Wissota Streets, Wissota Midwest Modifieds, Wissota Super Stocks and Hornets.

Hot, humid weather seemed fitting for racing with the fireworks taking place on the race track. A total of 69 race cars gave the fans a good show, finishing early enough for everyone to make it back to town for the traditional fireworks over Lake Bemidji.

Tim LaVoi won the Mini Stocks feature, while Becky Barrett held off her won, Tim, to take second. Neil Fleming and Chad Fundt rounded out the top five.

Bill Chaboyea took the checkered flag in the Pure Stocks feature, going high to pass Dakota Green on the final lap to win by a nose. Corey Peterson finished third, followed by Chad Puschinsky and Joel Harvey.

Tim Johnson pulled away from the field to win the Wissota Streets feature, followed by Scotty Messner, Dan Severson, Dustin Puffe and Don Bowman.

Adam Johnson won a wild Wissota Midwest Modified feature that included three caution flags. It was Johnson's first win of the season. Ricky Jacobson finished second, followed by Skyler Smith, Gary James Nelson and Tim Carlson.

Tyler Kintner edged Tim Johnson to win the Wissota Super Stocks feature. Tal Lucken and Matt Sparby were in contention until their cars collided and they faded as the race resumed. Dalton Carlson took third, Seth Cramer fourth and Lucken fifth.

Corry VanMil continued his domination in the Wissota Mod Four class, picking up another feature win. Conrad Schwin took second, followed by Tommy Sabraski, Chad Fundt and Kevin Bahr.

The final race of the hot evening found the Hornet class on track. Don Kolkin started in the second row but raced up to take the lead and the win when leader Mike Reynolds drove into the pits with mechanical trouble. Jason Bush, Joe Doti, John Aderman and Reynolds made up the top five.
