Tyler Follis belted a 2-run round-tripper in the sixth inning to power the Bemidji Legion team to a 9-7 win over Nisswa in the second game of Monday's doubleheader in Nisswa.

The home team took Monday's opener 12-2.

Tuesday the Legion stopped Roseau 10-3 in the first game of a scheduled home doubleheader. Today the Legion visits Little Falls for a pair of games.

"We were happy to bounce back in the second game Monday at Nisswa after struggling in the opener," said Legion coach Mike Fogelson whose team improved to 2-1.

Bemidji bolted to a 6-0 lead after one inning of the nightcap and upped the advantage to 9-0. Nisswa, however, scored three in the sixth and made things interesting with four in the seventh.

In the first inning Mitch Hendricks doubled and, after Kevin Murphy walked, Follis singled home the lead runner. Cody Rutledge walked to fill the bases and a run scored when Tyler Tatro singled. Collin Leif drove in a run after being hit by a pitch and Mason Bellew's single plated two more. The inning ended when Matt Hietala's sacrifice fly.

In the upper fourth Rutledge singled and scored courtesy of Tatro's double and the sixth inning featured a walk to Hendricks and Follis' home run.

Zach Solheim opened on the Legion mound and breezed through five innings. He tired in the sixth, however, and yielded to Hendricks in the seventh.

Monday's opener followed a different script as Nisswa dominated from the outset and closed the game via the 10-run rule in the bottom of the sixth.

Bemidji scored in the third on singles by Follis and Rutledge and added a solo tally in the fifth when Tatro was hit by a pitch and Leif and Hietala followed with singles.
