Bagley-Fosston's Huschle state-bound in four events

Analisa Huschle of Bagley- Fosston will be heading to the state Class A track meet in four events as she captured the 200, triple jump and long jump and ran a leg on the winning 4x200 relay unit at the 8A track and field meet held Saturday in Crookston.

Huschle, who led Bagley-Fosston to the Class A state championship a year ago, captured the 200 in a time of 25.41, won the triple jump with a leap of 38-1, claimed the long jump with a meet record distance of 18-10.5 and helped the Flyers win the 4x20 in 1:46.69.

Also advancing to the state meet were Lynsey Bardwell of Bagley-Fosston who was second to Huschle in the 200 (27.08), Emily Julin of Bagley-Fosston who was second in the high jump (5-0) and Sarah Knight of Walker-Hackensack-Akeley who won the pole vault (9-6).

Bagley-Fosston finished second in the team scoring with 77 points and trailed only Park Rapids which tallied 88.5. Nevis was 11th (28), Walker-Hackensack-Akeley 13th (21.5), Clearbrook-Gonvick 15th (10.5) and Blackduck-KN 19th (4).

State qualifiers in the boys division included Luke Conger of Bagley-Fosston who was second in the 1600 (4:42.74), Bryon Schuldt of Nevis who won the 3200 (9:56.77), Dennis Austin of WHA who won the 110 hurdles (15.71) and the high jump (6-7), Patrick Thompson of Bagley-Fosston who was second in the high jump (6-1) and Josiah Bennett of Clearbrook-Gonvick who finished second in the shot put (47-8).

Roseau captured the boys team title with 83.5 points. WHA was eighth (38), Bagley-Fosston ninth (35), Nevis 10th (28), Clearbrook-Gonvick 19th (10) and Blackduck-KN 23rd (1).
