Bemidji HS golf: Dale leads way for Jacks at Sauk Centre

Trey Dale shot 76 to lead the Bemidji boys golf team at Tuesday's triangular at Greystone in Sauk Centre.

The Jacks finished third in the field with a 319, trailing Moorhead's 296 and Fergus Falls' 312.

Bemidji joined its Section 8 peers at Greystone for one last practice round on the course that will host the section meet.

Joe Welle carded a 77 while Kevin Larson shot 72, Rylee Curb and Elliot Leinen 84 and Max Hazelton 90.

The Bemidji girls golf team finished fifth in the 9-team Detroit Lakes Invitational Tuesday at Detroit Lakes.

"We shot 357 and that's our low round of the year," said BHS coach Jeff Nelson. "I'm very pleased with how we played. It looks as if we are headed in the right direction."

Grand Rapids won with 322 and Detroit Lakes shot 329. The meet medalists were Abby Ness of Roseau and Laura Cahill of Grand Rapids as each shot 74.

Bemidji's best was Shelby Sauer's 80. Meg Phelps shot 86, Emily Frosaker 93, Katelin Craft 98 and Aimee Sandquist 102. Amy Frosaker was sick and unable to play.
