Cass Lake-Bena baseball: Panthers win 10th straight

The Cass Lake-Bena Panthers shut out Kelliher-Northome 7-0 Monday on the loser's diamond to record their 10th straight win.

It also left them atop the Northland Conference at 7-0.

They hosted Bagley yesterday in another league game, play at Red Lake Thursday and host Blackduck Friday to complete a busy week.

CL-B managed only five hits off Alex Gehlert who worked the distance, fanning seven and walking two.

Mike Hanson picked up his third win on a two-hitter, striking out six and walking one.

Evan Nelson had both hits, reaching second on both occasions, the only Mustang to advance past first base.

CL-B scored five times in the third with two outs on a walk, Nolan Goss' double, a single by Hanson, Tyler Trosen's double and two K-N errors.
