Youth hockey report for March 2

Pee Wee A

The Bemidji Coca Cola Pee Wee A lost its final regular season game Sunday 3-1 to Moorhead, dropping its record to 32-6-1.

The same two teams meet again Friday in the opening round of the West Regional at East Grand Forks.

Bemidji will also face Elk River and Centennial in poll play with the top two teams in each pool advancing to the semifinals where they will be cross bracketed.

Bemidji trailed 3-0 after two periods. Michael Forseth scored in the third off a Josh Lusby feed.

Kyle Krause had 23 stops for Bemidji, Moorhead rejected only16.

Squirts A

The Squirts A went 2-3 this weekend at the giant Fargo Flyers International Tournament.

It opened with a 6-1 win over Baudette scoring four goals in the final period to widen a 2-0 lead.

Jaret Lalli scored twice and Sam Walker, Alex Pollock, Noah Nei and Brady h Tatro once.

Matt Fitzgerald needed only 10 saves. LOW had 33.

Rosemount scored two first period goals and made them stand up to beat Bemidji 2-1 in its second Friday game.

Pollock scored from a Tatro feed. Trevor Bjerke made 10 saves. Rosemount had 24.

Saturday, Bemidji won a shootout to down Thunder Bay 4-3.

Tatro scored twice and Pollock once with Lalli getting two assists and Pollock one.

Bjerke kicked back 16 shots. The Canadians had 27 saves.

Fergus Falls won the second Saturday game 7-4 getting its final two goals into an empty net.

Pollock and Ryan Pogue divided the four goals. Johanns, Pickett and Lalli had assists.

Fitzgerald made 20 stops. Fergus had 23.

Sunday Bemidji lost to Eastview 3-2, out shooting the winners 27-20.

Tatro had both goals, Pollock had two feeds and Lalli one.

Fitzgerald had 14 saves. Eastview had 23.

The results ended the regular season at 15-7-4.

Bemidji hosts the District 16 meet this weekend opening with Crookston Saturday noon. East Grand Forks and LOW complete the lower bracket. Warroad and Thief River play in the upper bracket with that winner facing top seeded Roseau in the semifinals.

Squirts B White

The Squirts B White won a pair of weekend games, besting Warroad 8-4 Saturday and Park Rapids 5-1 Sunday at the BCA.It lifted the team to 9-11-1 in games reported this year.

On Saturday, Taylor Andersen Hunter Olson and Joey Leitner scored twice and Mitch Seopa and Ty Tobey once.

Ben Mackenroth had two assists and Andersen, Ben Mannausau. Tobey and Steve Dinneen once.

Avery Goeddertz and Matt Norgaard split goal tending chores making 16 saves. Warroad had only four.

Sunday Tobey scored twice and Andersen Tyler Haugen and Mannausau once.

Leitner, Brady Krause, Tommy Saxton, Andrew Dondelinger and Haugen had assists.

Norgaard tended goal making 11 saves. Park Rapids had 18.

Girls 12-Under

Bemidji's 12-Under girls hockey team went 3-1 at the District tournament. beating Crookston, East Grand Forks and Warroad around a loss to Roseau.

A third period goal gave Bemidji a 3-2 opening game win over Crookston. outshooting the losers 25-6.One of the Bemidji goals came on its only power play attempt.

Sierra Anderson, Megan Dondelinger and Mackenzie Hietala scored with Sylvia Grimm and Kelsey Isaacson getting assists.

Morgan Miller had two saves in getting the win.

Bemidji then stopped East Side 4-1 holding a 26-12 shots bulge.

Dondelinger, Sadie Defatte, Grimm and Katie Pogue had the goals. Francie Mackenroth had three assists and Anderson, Madelyn Tews and Dondelinger one.

Miller made 11 stops in the net.

Roseau then beat Bemidji 6-2 putting 29 shots on goal to Bemidji's 12. Defatte and Grimm scored the Bemidji goals. Anderson had the lone assist.

Miller had 14 stops and Leighton Rockensock six for Bemidji.

Sunday, Bemidji scored three second period goals and made them stand up to beat Warroad 3-2.

Warroad outshot Bemidji 24-12.

Grimm scored twice and Defatte once. Janessa Johnson and Savannah DeLaHunt had the assists.

Rockensock made 24 stops to get the win.
