Bemidji HS wresting: Gators beat Jacks in dual

The state ranked BGMR Gators rolled past the young Bemidji Lumberjacks wrestling team 51-9 Tuesday night at Greenbush, dropping the Jacks to 2-8 in dual matches this year.

The Gators won 10 of the 12 matches wrestled with neither team fielding a man at 135 or 215.

The top match of the night found Bemidji's Corey Huber moving up to 189 to challenge talented Cole Christianson who dropped from 215 for the match.

Both had won titles at the Rick Lee Invitational, Huber at 160.

Each executed an escape before Huber won the match 3-1 with a third period takedown.

Jake Crosby accounted for the other six points with a second period fall at 119.

Otherwise, the home team registered seven falls and three decisions.

Drew Peterson pushed Tanner Sovde at 140 before falling 5-4 and Kodi Craft held John Ingle to a 5-2 win at 145.

BGMR won15 of the 18 preliminary matches with Seth Drebing, Dustin Greenman and Brett Schussman the Bemidji winners.
