Bemidji State men's hockey team moves up to No. 7 in latest national poll

The Bemidji State men's hockey team jumped four spots in the latest United States College Hockey Online national poll.

The unbeaten Beavers (7-0-1 overall, 4-0-0 CHA) stand at No. 7 in the poll after climbing up from No. 11 with a weekend sweep of Robert Morris at John Glas Fieldhouse.

Miami of Ohio is the consensus No. 1 in the most recent poll, receiving 49 of the 50 first place votes.

North Dakota is at No. 2, Cornell is at No. 3, Denver is at No. 4, Massachussetts-Lowell is No. 5 and Michigan is at No. 6.

Cornell (3-0-0) and Bemidji State are the only teams in the poll who have yet to lose a game this season.

Bemidji State is currently the highest ranked team hockey team in Minnesota. Minnesota-Duluth at No. 18 is the only other ranked team in the state.

The Beavers will put its unbeaten record to the test against the University of Minnesota this weekend. Bemidji State will play the Gophers in a Saturday-Sunday series at Mariucci Arena.

Minnesota is 3-4-1 to start the season and is coming off a weekend road split against Wisconsin.
