Ashlee Ellefsen scored her first career hat trick to help the Bemidji State University soccer team beat Augustana 3-2 in overtime on Friday afternoon at the BSU Soccer Field.

Ellefsen tied the school record for most career-goals with 31.

Battling blowing snow, the Beaver's came back from a 2-1 deficit at halftime to win an important end-of-the-season match.

"It was a great game and a lot of fun," BSU head coach Jim Stone said. "I feel bad that we had to play in the conditions that we had today, because you want to play someone like that in ideal conditions."

Coming into the game Augustana and Bemidji State (10-6-1, 6-5-1 NSIC) were tied for 8th place in the conference standings.

The win gives Bemidji State a likely playoff berth for the NSIC tournament.

Ellefsen scored her three goals in the 20th, 54th and 99th minute.

Yesenia Garcia had two assists and goalie Abby Kjonaas finished with 12 saves in the game for BSU.

She had eight saves in the first half.
