Bemidji High School wrestling: State run ends for Huber and Olson

Bemidji's two representatives at the state Class AAA wrestling tournament both fell, by the wayside Friday afternoon to end one win short of placing.

Corey Huber at 160 lost to Logan Kortan of Albert Lea 5-1, failing to advance to the evening round and gain a placing.

Evan Olson lost to Michael Hirsch of Austin 9-4 at 189.

Huber ended the state at 1-2 and 30-6 on the season. It was his second straight appearance at the state meet. He finished 2-2 last tear, also one match short of placing.

Olson ended 2-2 at the state to close at 24-10. It was his first trip to the big event.

Both juniors will be back for another try next winter with good chances of higher finishes.

Bemidji ended its dual match season 4-13.
