Volleyball: Bemidji finishes 3-2 at St. Michael tournament

ST. MICHAEL – The Bemidji High School volleyball team capped its weekend at the St. Michael-Albertville tournament with three victories Saturday, including a 25-19, 25-20 demolition of Monticello which entered the day rated No. 2 in the Section 8-3A QRF rankings.

The Lumberjacks were rated fourth.

In Friday’s play BHS lost 23-25, 25-13, 15-13 to Totino-Grace and 25-23, 26-24 to Rogers.

Saturday, however, the Lumberjacks upped their level of play and won six consecutive games.

In the opener Bemidji edged Hastings 26-24, 25-23 behind the 13-dig efforts of Hanna Olson and Myria Colley.

The Jacks continued their winning ways with a 25-21, 25-16 thumping of Litchfield. Colley had eight kills, Emily Falldorf seven and Brylee Colligan six.

The day ended with the victory over Monticello. Alexa Greendahl dished 24 set assists and Olson had 12 digs. Karlie Leif and Talia Lucken each had nine digs.

Bemidji (13-12) will close its regular season this week with Tuesday’s game at Duluth East and Thursday’s game at Thief River Falls.
