Kraus tourney June 12

Plans continue for the 10th annual Kraus-Anderson Walleye Classic which will be held June 12 on Lake Bemidji and Lake Irving.

The tournament, a live-release event, can accommodate 100 two-person boats and offers more than $60,000 in cash and prizes. The winning team will earn $10,000.

Anglers will leave the staging area at 7 a.m. and the weigh-in begins at 3:30 p.m.

Take a Kid Fishing

The 24th annual Bemidji area Take a Kid Fishing event will be held June 9. Local guides are ready to take up to 180 young anglers on the water for a day of fishing.

The day will conclude with a fish fry at Bemidji State Park for the guides, the kids and their parents.

A similar event is being held the same day in Cass Lake. Guides will meet their kids at the Cass Lake Wayside Rest at 8 a.m.
