Bean is off base in criticism of law enforcement

I, for one, am tired of the continuous bashing of our professional law enforcement personnel by Sandy Bean. They have a sworn duty to uphold the law. If you don't like the law, speak to your legislator.

This last Monday I witnessed these people doing their utmost trying to save a life. Three Beltrami County deputy sheriffs responded to an accident scene 20 miles east of Bemidji, and arrived on the scene in less than 15 minutes of my call to 911. After working hard with CPR and oxygen for at least 10 minutes they were joined by a crew from the Cass Lake Ambulance Service, and then about 10 minutes later the life flight helicopter crew arrived and tried their best to revive the victim.

All Law enforcement personnel, including at least five Beltrami County deputies, two Minnesota Highway Patrol officers and one Leech Lake officer, acted in a very professional manner, and did their best to console the close personal friend of the victim. I have never known a law enforcement officer in this area to act in other than a highly professional manner, even though at times I do not agree with the laws that it is their duty to enforce. I am sure that if Sandy Bean is ever in need of their services they will act in the same way, even though she seems to have no respect for the tough job that they do. I know how the experience last Monday affected me, and they are confronted with these kinds of situations all the time.
