Roberta "Bobbi" Sellon

G. Roberta "Bobbi" Sellon, 93 of Bemidji, MN died Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Sanford Bemidji Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wilton, MN with Fr. Jerry Rogers officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm, with a rosary at 5:00 pm and prayer service at 7:00 pm on Monday, April 16, 2018 at the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. Interment will be at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Wilton, MN.

Bobbi was born May 28, 1924 in Lincoln, Nebraska, the daughter of Robert and Gladys (Starkey) Hardin. She moved with her family to Norman, OK, where she graduated from University High School. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma in Norman, OK She married William "Bill" Sellon May 31, 1947 at the Mater Admirabilis Catholic Church in Norman, OK. They worked and lived in Peoria, IL and Athens, Ohio until settling in Bemidji. Bobbi graduated and received her Masters in Violin/Viola from Bemidji State University. She taught music at BSU and taught Russian at BHS; as well as teaching to many private students. She was active in our community with being a member of the Bemidji Symphony Orchestra, volunteering at the Food Shelf, singing in the St. Philip's Church Choir and playing violin in Sacred Heart Church until her death. Music was her life. Her passion especially was string ensembles and teaching students. She was an avid knitter and spinner. She was never without her knitting needles. She knit afghans for all her grandchildren when they graduated from high school. She also enjoyed knitting socks, mittens, and hats for family and charities.

She is survived by her children, Michael (Mary) Sellon of St. Cloud, Patricia Sellon of Bemidji, Kristi Kastelic of Chippewa Falls, WI, Teresa Peterson of Ramsey, MN, Mary (Terry) Seitz of Bemidji, and Jon (Fran) Sellon of Bemidji; sister, Virginia Long of Salinas, CA; 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 2 nieces, and 2 nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Sellon, grandchildren, William and Robert Sellon, brother, Burton Hardin, sons-in-law, Roger Peterson and Joe Kastelic, and her parents, Robert and Gladys Hardin.

Casketbearers will be her grandsons, Andrew, Eric, Joshua, Jacob, Nicholas, Isaac, and William.

Memorials may be given to St. Mary's Mission Catholic Church in Red Lake, MN, Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wilton or Roberta Sellon Scholarship at Bemidji State University.
