Max Charles Loewe, 72, of Walker, MN died on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at his home in Walker, MN.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3-8:00pm, Friday, March 16, 2018 at the Pike Bay Town Hall in Cass Lake, MN. Arrangements are with the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji.
He was born on October 31, 1945, in Fairmont, MN, the son of August and Alice Loewe. He was raised and educated in Fairmont. He served in the US Navy from 1963 until 1966. He served his country in Vietnam and was unfortunately exposed to Agent Orange. After returning he went on to own a gas station and drove race cars for fun. He continued to serve his community by becoming a Police Officer first for Cass Lake, MN, and later as a Police Officer and Police Chief for Pike Bay Township. Max's long time passion was riding motorcycles, especially Harley Davidson's. He enjoyed repairing, and flipping the motorcycles as well. In 1984 he was one of the charter members who founded the Midwest Motorcycle Club, it grew to be his pride and joy. That same year he founded Max's Bash, a rally and get together whose proceeds were dedicated to Camp Courage North, this year will be the rally's 34th annual event. He married Boni Bucy on October 26, 2002 in Cass Lake, MN. After retiring he took a temporary job in 2003 at the Cass Lake Elementary School, he was still working there 15 years later. Max had a life well lived from his adoption to his death, it all seemed to be on his terms. He was fiercely proud of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his: Wife, Bonita Loewe of Walker, MN, Children, Justin (Donna) Loewe of Salol, MN, Darcie (Ryan) Cwikla of Warroad, MN, Dustin (Barb) Johnson of Truman, MN, Max Johnson, LaNeyce Wright of Iowa, Rick Chisholm of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Grandson, Andrew Loewe of Fargo, ND, Very Special Granddaughters, Samantha Loewe, Jerzey Loewe, Numerous Great-Grandchildren, Sister, Laurabelle Brockman of Colorado, And Max's best girl Kona.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister LaVonne Harris.
