Arnold "Butch" Dahl, 78, of Bena died Tuesday, October 3, 2017 in Duluth. He was born August 11, 1939 in Cass Lake to Arnold "Arnie" and Marquerite "Sis" Dahl. He graduated from Cass Lake High School, attended Bemidji State College, joined the Air Force, worked on the pipeline, railroad, and in construction. Butch married Charlene Falsfeather Spicer and had six children: Steve, Kenny, Lloyde, Jody, Bruce, and Arnold "Seed" Dahl. Grandchildren: R.J., Danielle, Shelia, Richard, Lloyde, Dayna, Derek, Triston, Mercedes and several great grandchildren. Also grateful for sharing his life were his sister Henrietta Finn, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends. Butch was very outgoing, enjoyed the outdoors and being with family and friends. He enjoyed taking his children and grandchildren hunting, fishing and camping. He was very proud to participate with the Leech Lake Veteran's Honor Guard. He also enjoyed taking trips with family to Alaska to go fishing, to see Mt. Denali, glaciers and wildlife; to California to see Disney Land; to Florida to enjoy Disney World; and to Canada for sightseeing and camping with family. A memorial service with military honors and ceremonial drums will be held at the Bena Community Center at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 21 with lunch following.
