Riley A. Slosson

Riley A. Slosson, 80, of Seattle, Washington, passed away on Monday, May 15, 2017.

Riley was born January 14, 1937 in Bemidji, Minnesota to Glenn and Ann Slosson. As a teenager, he excelled at and loved playing the trumpet. At Bemidji High School he met his high school sweetheart, Beverly Rowland. They married after graduation and then moved to Seattle Washington. Riley taught trumpet and attended the University of Washington for a while until he hired on at The Boeing Company. "On the Road Again" was the family anthem as we traveled the nation with Boeing landing back in Seattle in 1979. Riley and Bev had three children, Christi born in Washington, Cathi in Florida, and Cari in Louisiana. Riley had many hobbies during his lifetime including playing the trumpet, photography, golf, fishing, and skeet/trap shooting. His final passion was woodworking.

Riley is survived by his three daughters, Christi Castro and her husband Bill, Cathi Porter, and Cari Stevens and her husband Pat; five grandchildren, Ashleigh Castro, Chelsea and Russell Alfano, Alli and Ryan Porter; and his two sisters, Judy (Tom) Dvorak and Mary Mckee.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00PM Saturday July 29th at Greenwood Cemetery, 1903 Bemidji Ave. N. with a reception immediately following at the United Methodist Church, 902 Beltrami Ave. NW. If inclined to donate, in lieu of flowers, donate to an animal or cancer charity of your choice.
