Jane Elizabeth Johnson, 63 of Bemidji, MN died Saturday, June 10, 2017 at her home.

A celebration of Jane's life will be held on Tuesday, July 4th from 2pm - dusk at her home. Anyone with questions or to RSVP may use Mandy Baumgartner's email address - mandyadelej1998@gmail.com. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji assisted the family with arrangements.

Jane was born October 11, 1953 in Bemidji, MN the daughter of Clifford and Olga (Stovig) Choate. She was raised and educated in Bemidji; graduating from Bemidji High School in 1971. She married her high school sweetheart David M. Johnson on June 14, 1971. They spent 46 years together. She worked for the Minnesota Department of Transportation for 31 years, retiring in November of 2008. Her love for her family was beyond words. She had a very special bond with each one of her grandchildren, especially her Keddy Bear. She lived for all 5 of her grandchildren; Kedrick Johnson, Kendyll Johnson, Hayden Morin-Johnson, Natalie Baumgartner and Tyler Baumgartner. She will always be remembered by her quick wits and sense of humor. During her retirement, she was able to enjoy her gardening, the love for reading and her endless open doors for any and all dogs. She was a woman with one of the biggest hearts and was always so kind hearted to anyone who crossed her path.

She is survived by her husband, David Melvin Johnson of Bemidji; son, Daniel (Tanell Lord) Johnson of Bemidji; daughter, Mandy (Michael) Baumgartner of Bemidji; 5 grandchildren; brother, Chuck (Donna) Choate of Fargo, ND, sister, Judy (Will) Dornfeld of Savage, MN, sister-in-laws, Barbara (Michael) Mellon of Minneapolis, and DeAnne (Doyle) Himmelright of Bemidji, brother-in-law, Darrell (Connie) Johnson and a number of nieces and nephews, and her best friend since she was .5 years old, Patricia "Patty" Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter, Alayna Johnson, grandson, Kallen Johnson and brother, Curtis Choate.
