BOYS BASKETBALL: Bemidji falls at Superior
SUPERIOR, Wis. -- The Bemidji High School boys basketball team dropped its first game of the weekend road trip to the shore of Lake Superior, falling to Superior 67-61 despite a 24-point effort from senior Linaes Whiting.
The Jacks (12-6) went into the intermission with a 32-26 lead due to 14 from Whiting, but the Spartans took over in the second half to steal the win.
Spencer Konecne was the only other double-digit scorer for Bemidji, posting 13 points and 12 rebounds. Cobb Hubbard added eight points, while Jace Peterson had seven along with seven rebounds, five assists and five steals.
Mason Akeley led Superior with 23 points, followed by Xavier Patterson’s 12.
Bemidji finishes the trip with a 2 p.m. tip-off against Hermantown this afternoon.
