The following cases were heard by Beltrami County District Judge John Melbye on June 8:

Joel Clarence Velisek, 46, of Bemidji, was sentenced for felony theft.

He was sentenced to 17 months in prison, which was stayed for five years. He must serve 150 days in jail. He was placed on supervised probation for five years. A $500 fine was stayed. He must pay $2,600 in restitution and $110 in fees.

The following cases were heard by Beltrami County District Judge Shari Schluchter on June 11:

Thomas Edward Strong, 23, of Bemidji, was sentenced for two counts of gross misdemeanor criminal sexual conduct, nonconsensual sexual contact.

On the first count, he was sentenced to one year in jail with 86 days stayed for two years. He must serve 279 days in jail, work or pay off a $500 and pay $160 in fees. Restitution was reserved. He was placed on probation for two years,

On the second count, he was sentenced to a year in jail with the time stayed for two years. He must pay or work off a $500 fine and pay $160 in fees. Restitution was reserved.

The following cases were heard by Beltrami County District Judge Donna Dixon on June 11:

Michael Joseph Dominguez Jr., 26, of Red Lake, was sentenced for gross misdemeanor DWI, refusal to submit to testing.

He wsa sentenced to one year in jail with 355 days stayed for three years. He must serve 10 days on work release and was given credit for three days serve. He was placed on probation for three years. He must pay a $750 fine and $180 in fees.

The following cases were heard by Beltrami County District Judge Paul Benshoof on June 18:

Robert Perry Robinson, 56, of Bemidji, was sentenced for felony check forgery.

He was given a stay of imposition; successful completion of probation will result in a misdemeanor conviction.

He must serve 45 days in jail on work release, pay or work off a $1,000 fine, pay $158 in fees and pay $600 in restitution. He was placed on supervised probation for five years.

Wayne Doran Loch, 50, of Bemidji, was sentenced for felony first-degree DWI.

He was sentenced to 42 months in prison; conditional release after confinement was set for five years. The sentence was stayed for seven years. He was placed on supervised probation for seven years and must complete the DWI Court program. He must pay a $1,000 fine and $185 in fees.

Krysta Ilyse Sanders, 24, of Laporte, was sentenced for gross misdemeanor third-degree DWI.

She was sentenced to one year in jail with 350 days stayed for three years. She must serve 15 days in jail and was given credit for two days served. She was placed on probation for three years. She must pay or work off a $250 fine and pay $435 in fees.

Richard Dean Derby, 24, of Bemidji, was sentenced for gross misdemeanor second-degree DWI.

He was sentenced to one year in jail with 355 days stayed for four years. He must serve 10 days in jail and was placed on supervised probation for four years. A $750 fine was stayed. He must pay $185 in fees.

Timothy Michael Roberts, 21, of Bemidji, was sentenced for two charges.

For felony theft of a motor vehicle, he was given a stay of imposition; successful completion of probation will result in a gross misdemeanor conviction. He must serve 69 days in jail and was given credit for 46 days served. He also must complete 100 hours of community service. He was placed on supervised probation for five years. A $50 fine was stayed. He must pay $2,612.62 in restitution and $85 in fees, plus a public defender fee.

For felony second-degree burglary, he was sentenced to 23 months in prison, which was stayed for 10 years. He must serve 90 days and was given credit for 44 days served. He was placed on supervised probation for 10 years. He must pay $160 in fees and restitution was reserved.

Alana Kathleen Sweno, 24, of Gully, Minn., was sentenced for gross misdemeanor third-degree DWI.

She was sentenced to one year in jail with 350 days stayed for three years. She must serve 15 days on work release and was given credit for three days served. She was placed on supervised probation of three years. She must pay a $250 fine and $360 in fees.
