Two arrested after Crookston home invasion

Two people were arrested after an apparent home invasion and robbery in Crookston on Tuesday afternoon.

According to a report from Crookston Police Department, two men were arrested on robbery charges after they allegedly entered the house of their next door neighbor at 431 S. Ash St. at about 2 p.m. Tuesday.

One of the suspects allegedly pointed a black semi-automatic handgun at the female resident while the other filled plastic garbage bags with cash, electronic game devices, expensive footwear, clothing and jewelry, according to the report.

The two suspects, who were wearing black masks, fled the apartment on foot. A witness told police they fled in a silver-colored Chrysler 200 with Georgia license plates.

The suspect vehicle was located at the University of Minnesota-Crookston and the two suspects were apprehended separately a short time later.

The suspects have been identified as Anthony Glen Barge, 21, and Joseph Moorer, 20. Police said both are UM-Crookston students who were living at 429 S. Ash St.

Both were charged with robbery and were transported to Northwest Regional Correctional Center.

Police recovered all of the stolen items, including cash. They also recovered masks believed to have been used in the robbery, as well as an air gun revolver that resembles a Berretta handgun.

Polk County Sheriff’s Department assisted Crookston police. The case remains under investigation.
