Attic catches fire in Frohn Township home

BEMIDJI -- An attic of a Frohn Township home caught fire late Monday morning, causing an estimated $37,000 in damage.

The Bemidji Fire Department responded to a house fire call at 11:52 a.m. at a residence in the 3500 block of Sunnyside Road SE. When personnel arrived, the attic of the home was on fire and firefighters were able to contain and extinguish the fire. A total of 13 firefighters used two fire engines and one water tender truck. The cause of the fire is under investigation, however it appears accidental in nature, the department said in a press release.

Firefighters were assisted on the scene by the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office, Bemidji Ambulance Service and Beltrami Electric Cooperative.
