Leech Lake man reported missing

BEMIDJI — Leech Lake Tribal Police are looking for information on the whereabouts of a Squaw Lake, Minn., man.

Damon Lee Boyd, 29, was last seen in the Grand Forks, N.D., area on April 30.

Lt. Jim Remer of the Grand Forks Police Department, which has been helping with the search, said Boyd is a missing person and is not considered dangerous.

Boyd has stayed at the Northlands Rescue Mission in Grand Forks in the past, and was reported to have stayed in the hospital there when he was last seen.

“We’ve done checking in our area to kind of track down and back track locations he had been at,” Remer said.

The Grand Forks police also received an unverified report Boyd had been seen in the Fargo-Moorhead area in early July, according to Remer.

“Some of these things can be difficult because there’s nothing criminal he’s been involved with,” Remer said. “People are just concerned about his whereabouts.”

Boyd is described as an American Indian male, 6 feet 3 inches tall, weighing 190 pounds. Anyone with information about Boyd’s whereabouts should contact the Leech Lake Police Department at(218) 335-8277 or the Itasca County Sheriff’s Office at (218) 326-3477.
