Bjerknes to plead guilty to state and federal charges

DNR allows burning permits

BEMIDJI — The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources announced that burning permits are now available for southern Beltrami, northern Cass, Clearwater, Hubbard, Mahnomen and Polk counties. The permits are effective between the hours of 5 p.m. and 8 a.m.

Three-day permits can be obtained from township fire wardens or local DNR forestry offices. Annual permits can be obtained online through the DNR’s website for a $5 fee.

Activation is necessary before burning. Permit holders can activate their permits by calling 1-866-533-2876, toll-free.
