WILLMAR, Minn. — Kandiyohi County Sheriff Dan Hartog said two people were arrested Wednesday evening in connection with the death of a 79-year-old woman.

Hartog said Brok Nathaniel Junkermeier, 19,  was booked into the Kandiyohi County Jail on second-degree murder and first-degree burglary charges. A 16-year-old boy was booked into the Prairie Lakes Youth Program Detention Facility in Willmar for liability crimes of another for second-degree murder and first-degree burglary.

Both suspects are pending court hearings for formal charges by the Kandiyohi County Attorney’s Office.

The sheriff’s office was called at 5:09 p.m. Monday to check on the welfare of  Lila Warwick, 79, of Willmar, who lived alone east of Willmar. She was found dead inside her home.

According to her obituary, Warwick moved to Willmar with her family in 1969. She worked for Willmar Manufacturing until retiring in 1998.

Warwick was very active with her parish, Redeemer Lutheran Church of Willmar, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, financial secretary, preschool volunteer and on the board of evangelism.

"Her faith was clearly evident in her life and deeds," Greg Enterline, pastor of Redeemer Lutheran Church, said. "She will be very sorely missed by Redeemer."

Enterline said Warwick, who was a long-time member of the church, was a loving, caring person, sentiments echoed by her best friend and hairdresser Carolyn Sundin, owner of The Hair Keeper of Willmar.

"I was with her every day," Sundin said. "I want her to be remembered for her loving and caring heart, concern for everyone in the world and love of humanity."
