Bemidji girl injured in Tuesday evening accident

A Bemidji girl was injured in a single-vehicle accident reported just before 5:45 p.m. Tuesday on U.S. Highway 2 west of Bemidji at Eckles Road.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol out of Thief River Falls:

Jessica M. Carlson, 16, of Bemidji, was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe west on Highway 2 and preparing to turn north onto Eckles Road when she overshot the corner. The vehicle went into a ditch and rolled.

All four occupants of the vehicle were wearing their seat belts. Carlson suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken by Bemidji Ambulance to North Country Regional Hospital, where she was treated and released.

The other occupants - 14-year-old Tyler L. Jacobs, 15-year-old Harley A. Hadrava and 15-year-old Dustin T. Hadrava - were not apparently injured.

The vehicle was totaled.

Assisting at the scene was the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office.
