Blizzard warning for Bemidji area

A common problem lately is the drifting due to windy conditions. Ice fisherman have been battling this all winter as what used to be a road to fish house on Lake Irving has a few drifts leading to it on Wednesday afternoon. Monte Draper | Bemidji Pioneer
BEMIDJI -- A blizzard warning has been issued for the Bemidji area until 9 p.m. Wednesday, and a wind chill warning remains in effect until Thursday morning.

That will continue into the evening, and possibly overnight, the weather service said. Also, dangerously cold wind chills will continue this evening into Thursday, the weather service said, with temperatures as low as 26 degrees below zero, with wind chills as low as 43 below. No travel was advised on several highways closer to the North Dakota border, according to the state Department of Transportation.
