Woman sentenced for criminal sexual conduct
A 24-year-old Red Lake woman received a stay of adjudication and must serve 15 years of supervised probation for having sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old boy with whom she had a child.
Jacqueline Ann Guinn, 24, was sentenced July 13 in Beltrami County District Court for serious felony third-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a victim 13-15 years old. She appeared before District Judge Paul Benshoof.
Guinn, who had pleaded guilty April 7, must serve 30 days in jail, attend and complete outpatient sex offender treatment, complete chemical dependency evaluation and treatment and follow recommendations, avoid alcohol and controlled substances, submit to random testing, avoid bars or liquor stores, avoid people younger than 18 who are consuming drugs or alcohol, submit to polygraph examinations as directed and pay fees, avoid contact with males younger than 18, except her own children; obtain employment and a GED, and pay a $328 fine.
Guinn gave birth to a child Nov. 4. The father was identified as a 15-year-old boy on the birth certificate, which was signed Nov. 12 by Guinn and the boy. On Nov. 18, Guinn went to Beltrami County Human Services and applied for public assistance in the form of cash, food stamps and health care for her child, and again listed the boy as the father.
Beltrami County Human Services referred the matter to the Bemidji Police Department. On Nov. 25, a detective spoke to the boy, who said he had met Guinn in February 2008 and they had had sexual relations a couple of times before he turned 16.
Guinn was located and arrested on two outstanding misdemeanor warrants and was interviewed at the jail. She admitted to the detective that she had had sex with the boy prior to his 16th birthday.
