World AIDS Day service set

BEMIDJI — A prayer service in honor of World AIDS Day will take place at 1 p.m. Sunday Dec.1 at St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church, 1800 Irvine Ave. NW. Music will be provided by Sarah Carlson, John Romer and Joe Vene. Refreshments will follow. All are welcome.

Lutefisk and meatball supper set

BEMIDJI — A lutefisk and meatball supper will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday Dec. 5 at Calvary Lutheran Church, 2508 Washington Ave. SE. Cost is $14 for adults and $6 for children younger than 12 years old. Menu includes lutefisk, meatballs, potatoes, rutabagas, coleslaw, cranberries, lefse, rolls, and pie. A Scandinavian bake sale and silent auction will be held. Take-outs are available. For more information, call 751-1893.

Kelliher lutefisk supper announced

KELLIHER — The annual lutefisk supper will be served from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday Dec. 5 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 249 W Main Street, Kelliher. Cost is $12 for adults, $5 for children between 6 and 12 years of age, and is free for children younger than 5 and older than 90. Menu will include lutefisk, roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, rutabagas, glorified rice, lefse, pies, milk and coffee.

Holiday bazaar announced

BEMIDJI — A holiday bazaar will take from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Dec. 14 at First Presbyterian Church, 5th St NW. Booth will include grandma’s attic, christmas, crafts, and baked goods.

Soup lunch will be served 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost is $6 per person. For more information, call 444-5016.

Volunteers and donations needed

BEMIDJI — The Evangelism and Lay Ministry Board of First Lutheran Church is in need of plastic bags to use in a recycling project for the homeless. Meetings are the first and third Tuesday of each month from 5 to 7 p.m. The group will be making crocheted mats out of the plastic bags for homeless people in the community.

Retirement reception set

BEMIDJI — A potluck and retirement reception for Pastor Jay and Carol will take place after the 9 a.m. worship service on Sunday Dec. 1, at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church, 1214 Durand Road, Puposky.
