Weekend crime report for Sept. 28-29

Police Report

The Bemidji Police Department responded to the following calls:


5:23 p.m. Sunday: Police responded to a report of a fight recorded and posted on Facebook in the 1400 block of 23rd Street Northwest.


9:43 a.m. Sunday: A 42-year-old man was arrested for DWI, leaving the scene of an accident and obstruction of justice with force near the intersection of Hannah Avenue Northwest and 30th Street Northwest.


9:28 a.m. Sunday: Theft from a vehicle was reported in the 1000 block of Irvine Avenue Northwest.


7:05 a.m. Sunday: A burglary was reported in the 1200 block of Beltrami Avenue Northwest.


2:54 a.m. Sunday: A 36-year-old man was arrested for DWI in the 800 block of Irvine Avenue Northwest.


1:54 a.m. Sunday: A 25-year old man and a 26-year-old man were arrested for fighting in the 100 block of Third Street Northwest.

Property Damage

1:11 a.m. Sunday: Damage was reported to a Bemidji Art Walk sculpture near the intersection of Beltrami Avenue Northwest and Third Street Northwest.


6:43 p.m. Saturday: Theft of lumber from outside a home was reported in the 2600 block of Delton Avenue Northwest.


5:55 p.m. Saturday: A 22-year-old man was arrested for DUI following a traffic stop in the 400 block of Jefferson Avenue Southwest.


5:54 p.m. Saturday: An officer responded to a reported hit-and-run accident in the 1900 block of Paul Bunyan Drive Northwest with no injuries.


5:09 p.m. Saturday: An officer was contacted by Bemidji State University security regarding a small amount of marijuana found on a student in the 1700 block of Birchmont Drive Northeast.  A 20-year-old man was cited in the incident.


4:31 p.m. Saturday: An officer took a report of an assault between two children in the 1600 block of Twenty-third Street Northwest.

Domestic Assault

2:09 a.m. Saturday: A 47-year-old man was arrested for felony domestic assault on the 1000 block of Washington Avenue South. The complainant was a juvenile.

Sheriff’s Report

The Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office responded to the following calls:


11:26 p.m. Sunday: Deputies responded to report of a fight in the 1100 block of Augusta Drive Northeast in Bemidji. Upon their arrival the suspect left the scene and the deputies were unable to locate them. A 43-year-old male was later cited in the incident.


7:31 a.m. Sunday: Deputies responded to a fire at Cattails Bar and Grill in the 6400 block of Bemidji Avenue North.


3:38 a.m. Sunday: A traffic stop near the 1100 block of Paul Bunyan Drive South resulted in the arrest of a 19-year-old man for DWI.


12:45 a.m. Sunday: Deputies responded to a report of a stabbing at a party on Hensel Drive Northeast. The incident is currently under investigation.


12:24 a.m. Sunday: After a complaint of reckless driving, a deputy performed a traffic stop on Big Bass Road Northeast which resulted in a 44-year-old being arrested for DWI.  


2:44 p.m. Saturday: Deputies responded to a report of a gas drive-off in the 8000 block of Irvine Avenue Northwest.  The vehicle owner called the gas station to arrange to pay for the gas later.


6:32 a.m. Saturday: A female was reportedly assaulted in the 4800 block of Eckles Road Northeast. She was transported to the ER for treatment.


2:44 a.m. Saturday: Deputies checking on a suspicious vehicle arrested a 46-year old woman for DWI on Shevlin Avenue Southwest.


1:00 a.m. Saturday: A 38-year-old man was arrested for Third Degree DWI near the intersection of Lomen Avenue Southeast and Highway Two Northwest.
