Guthrie corn feed planned

GUTHRIE-- The annual Guthrie corn on the cob and hot dog feed fundraiser will be held noon to 4 p.m. Sunday Aug. 25 at the Guthrie Community Center, 44255 Rail Rd. in Guthrie.

Corn, hot dogs, coffee, lemonade and bar will all be served.

All proceeds will go toward the maintenance and improvement of the facility.

BEMIDJI-- Explore Minnesota Tourism invites motorcyclists to view a new website called Highways, Byways and Back Roads, which helps discover Minnesota's scenic byways.

The site chronicles several routes from a motorcyclist's perspective through in-depth content, videos, photos, maps and more.

BEMIDJI-- Registration is open for Fall 2013 Headwaters Science Center Science Club, which will held Mondays beginning Sept. 23 through Dec. 16.

The club is a hands-on after school program for youth ages 7 to 13 at Headwaters Science Center.

The cost is $100 for Headwaters Science Center members and $130 for nonmembers. Single sessions cost $9 for members and $11.25 for nonmembers. Scholarships are available for those who qualify.

BEMIDJI-- Minnesota Public Radio released a new e-book, "Fight for An American Countryside," which explores the work being done by civic leaders and everyday people to reinvent rural living in Minnesota.

The work was done over a course of three years by MPR News reporter Jennifer Vogel and editor Dave Peters.

The e-book profiles residents of Bemidji, Lutsen, Baxter, Hewitt, Long Prairie, Morris, Hancock, Milan, Montevideo, Redwood Falls and Northfield.

BEMIDJI-- Two Pac-12 networks have been added to the Paul Bunyan Television Sports package, which is available through Paul Bunyan Television.

Pac-12 National can be found on PBTV Channel 81 and Pac-12 Los Angeles can be found on PBTV Channel 82.

The Pac-12 Networks are dedicated to the Pac-12 schools including Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, Colorado, Oregon, Oregon State, Stanford, UCLA, USC, Utah, Washington and Washington State.
