Man hospitalized after collision with semi near Blackduck
BLACKDUCK -- A 43-year-old man was taken to the hospital after the vehicle he was driving crossed into oncoming traffic Wednesday morning, and collided with a semi.
James Dexter was travelling north on Highway 71 about three miles north of Tenstrike at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday when his car crossed over the center line, striking the semi's trailer tires, said Minnesota State Patrol public information officer Jesse Grabow. Dexter, of Blackduck, suffered non life-threatening injuries and a passenger, Michael Dexter, 20, was not injured, Grabow said.
The driver of the semi, 73-year-old Larry Rutherford of Hines, also received no injuries. Grabow said the crash remains under investigation, and Dexter was not listed as a patient at Sanford Medical Center in Bemidji, according to spokeswoman Lindsey Wangberg.
