Area graduate news

— The following students have graduated from Minnesota State University Mankato:

— The following student graduated from the University of North Dakota:

Brent Sayers, of Red Lake, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics.

Local student wins scholarship — BEMIDJI — Southwest Minnesota State University has selected Hannah Dressen, daughter of Tom and LaVaye Dressen of Bemidji, to receive a Deans’ Award Scholarship for the 2013-2014 academic year. Recipients of the scholarship are recognized for their academic accomplishments and leadership abilities. She plans to major in culinology.

Local student receives award

— SHEVLIN — Ashley Hoffman of Shevlin was recently recognized during the Annual Student Awards Ceremony at the University of Minnesota Crookston.

Hoffman is a senior double majoring in agricultural business and agronomy. She was recognized for achievement with the Presidents Volunteer Service Award and Programmer of the Year for Student Programming and Activities for Campus Entertainment (SPACE).
