Public meeting on Bemidji Area Schools facilities Tuesday

BEMIDJI — A fieldhouse? New soccer fields? A new elementary school?

What do you feel is most needed for Bemidji-area youth?

Your opportunity to weigh in on future indoor and outdoor facilities needs for Bemidji Area Schools is Tuesday, as the district hosts a public forum at 7 p.m. in the Bemidji High School Commons.

“Long Range Planning for indoor and outdoor recreational facilities meetings are very effective in gathering input and will be used to assist the school district in the planning process,” a press release from the School District said. “The public is invited and encouraged to attend. You do not have to prepare for the meeting, just come and share your thoughts and ideas for the future.”

Northern Minnesota Solutions Group, contracted by the district for the study, is holding a series of meeting with stakeholders as consultants work to formulate recommendations.

Tuesday’s meeting is planned to be an opportunity to solicit public comment.

Those who are unable to attend but who want to share ideas and input are encouraged to email Superintendent Jim Hess at
