Homecoming week set at Bemidji State

BEMIDJI — Bemidji State University will celebrate its homecoming this week with a variety of activities, culminating in Saturday’s football game against Southwest Minnesota State, which also will be carried live on Midco Sports Network.


Events kick off with comedian Josh Rabinowitz, 7 p.m at Hagg-Sauer 100 at Bemidji State.


Lakeshore cleanup will be held 3 to 5 p.m. beginning in the Bangsberg parking lot.


- A blood drive is set for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Crying Wolf Room at BSU.

- The Campus Activity Board Challenge will begin at 6 p.m. on the lakeside lawn.

- The Beaver Rally will follow at 7 p.m. with a bonfire directly after the rally at the lakeside fireplace.


- Cosmic Bowling will be free for BSU students starting at 9 p.m. at Bemidji Bowl, 3455 Laurel Dr. NW.

- An educational lecture, "Nutrition and Ovarian Cancer Care: Red Wine, Berries and Tree Bark?" The lecture will be free and open to the public.


- The BSU student carnival is set for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the lakeside lawn.

- The Beaver Pride luncheon will take place 11:30 a.m. at Walnut Hall. Cost is $8.

-The Alumni B-Club Meeting will be held 2:30 p.m. in the Beaver Pride Room.

- The Campus Activity Board Challenge is set for 6 p.m. on the lakeside lawn.


- The BSU Alumni and Foundation annual meeting is set to begin 9:30 a.m. in the Crying Wolf Room at BSU.

- The Homecoming Tailgate Party will start at 11 a.m. at Diamond Point Park. Tailgate items can be brought to share or Stittsworth Brats, chips and beverages will be available for purchase.

- Kickoff for the homecoming football game is at 1 p.m. against Southwest Minnesota State.

- Tickets cost $15 for reserved seating, $9 for general admission, $6 for contributing BSU alumni, students from the opposing school or seniors over age 62, and children ages 6 to 12 cost $2 and children ages 5 and younger are free.

- The Annual Beaver Block Party, which will feature music by Front Fenders, is set for 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. downtown Bemidji, between 3rd and 4th Streets.
