Frizzell Furniture gives $2K to Red Cross through store promotion
WALKER – Frizzell Furniture in Walker has donated $2,085 to the North Star Chapter of the American Red Cross through a store promotion.
The family business, which involves Richard Frizzell, his daughter Tracy, son Will and daughter-in-law Erica, also participated in the Red Cross Holiday Mail for Heroes program, inviting customers to sign dozens of holiday cards to be distributed by the Red Cross to active duty personnel and wounded warriors around the world.
“The North Star Chapter is very grateful to Frizzell Furniture and its customers for this generous contribution,” said Judy Hanne Gonzalez, executive director of the Northland Chapter, which is headquartered in Bemidji and serves a 10,000-square mile-jurisdiction that includes Walker. “This single gift will help up to four families recover from fires this holiday season.”
The North Star Chapter responds annually to about 40 local disasters, providing emergency housing, food, clothing, medicine and medical supplies, eyeglasses, health services, and disaster counseling.
The Red Cross depends on donations to assist people affected by disasters. To make a donation, visit www.redcrossmn.org or call 800-733-2767. To make a quick $10 donation, text “REDCROSS” to 90999.
