Bemidji Wellness Challenge set
Explore Chiropractic and the Bemidji State University Gillett Recreation and Fitness Center have teamed up to co-sponsor the third annual Bemidji Wellness Challenge in 2010.
Participants will compete to win $1,000. The challenge will kick off on Jan. 4. The registration deadline is Dec. 7 and assessments will begin Dec. 14. The cost is $99.
The Bemidji Wellness Challenge is a 10-week program for individuals who are looking to improve all aspects of their health - physical, biochemical and psychological. Participants will be given three Creating Wellness Assessments and a score for their overall health (wellness quotient). The assessments will be given within two weeks prior to the beginning of the program, midway and at the end of the program. The participant with the largest increase in his or her wellness quotient will win $1,000. The participant with the largest percentage of weight loss will win an all-inclusive weekend getaway, including airfare, with six cities to choose from.
The focus of the challenge is to assist participants in their strength, cardio training and nutrition and provide lifestyle advice and motivation. Each participant will. receive weekly e-mails on fitness, nutrition and mental well-being, three Creating Wellness Assessments, a nerve scan analysis, use of the BSU Rec Center track, three Creating Wellness coaching sessions, wellness workshops, a T-shirt and more.
