Campbell new Good Samaritan director

Good Samaritan Society Home Care, based in Bemidji, has a new director.

Barb Campbell brings nearly 13 years of experience in long-term care to the Good Samaritan Society. She has been an assistant director of nursing, neighborhood coordinator, charge nurse, instructor for certified nursing assistants and has held other related positions. She recently became a certified diabetes educator.

Campbell graduated from the practical nursing program at Northwest Technical College in Thief River Falls in 1994. She also graduated from the Associate Degree Nursing program at Northland Community College in 1995.

At Good Samaritan Society Home Care, Campbell coordinates a variety of home health care services for residents in Beltrami, Cass, Clearwater, Hubbard and Koochiching counties.

Tailored to meet individual needs, the program's goals are to allow clients to remain independent in their own homes for as long as possible, to offer needed care following hospitalization, illness or injury; and to delay or prevent premature admission to a skilled nursing center.

Home health care provides personal care and home management services under the supervision of registered nurses. Staff members help clients focus on strengthening and increasing their ability to care for themselves in their homes.

Evangelical Lutheran Good Samarian Society is the nation's largest not-for-profit provider of long-term care and senior services. The society, founded in 1922, owns and operates more than 240 long-term health care centers and retirement living centers.
