BEMIDJI -- A two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 2 just west of Bemidji sent one woman to the hospital Saturday morning.
According to the State Patrol, the crash was reported at 9:45 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 2 and Cardinal Road NW (Beltrami County Road 9). The patrol said a 2001 Chevy Tahoe driven by Mary Trapp, 70, of Bemidji was eastbound on Highway 2 and a 2003 Chevy Silverado driven by Kayla Platt, 25, of Lengby, was turning eastbound from Cardinal Road NW when the Silverado slid and struck the Tahoe, and then struck the guard rail and ended up in the south ditch. The Tahoe came to a stop in the center median.
Road conditions were listed as snow and ice covered. Platt and an infant passenger were not injured; Trapp was taken to Sanford Bemidji Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, the patrol said.
