House votes to end government shutdown, sending legislation to Trump

Anna Alice Fix

Anna Alice Fix, 90, of Park Rapids, died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009 at Heritage Living Center in Park Rapids.

She was born on Jan. 31, 1918 in Orange County, Calif. to Ivan and Josephine (Eklund) Park. She attended public school there and graduated from Orange Public High School in 1936.

She married Roman F. Fix in 1940. They had two daughters and two sons. They made their home in California.

She worked as a cook in a rest home in Santa Anna, Calif., and also as a presser for a dry cleaner in California. After moving to Park Rapids, she worked as a seamstress at the Ringer Plant in Park Rapids for 20 years. For the past several years, she had made her home at SummerField Place in Park Rapids then the Heritage Living Center.

She is survived by four children: MaryAnn Mills, of Roanoke, Va., Babe (Susie), of Columbus, Ga., Gene, of Park Rapids, and Patty Dudley, of Nevis; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grand- children; a sister: Mary (Kieth) Garrett, of Orange, Calif.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1986; and two brothers: Arvo and George Park.

Visitation: 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15 at Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids.

Interment: Greenwood Cemetery in Park Rapids in the spring.
