Dorothy Jean Grewe, 86, of Deer Creek Township, died Monday, Jan. 5, 2009 at her home.

She was born Oct. 24, 1922 to Fred and Alma (Gossell) Holm in Fort Collins, Colo.

She married Helmer Grewe on Sept. 5, 1942 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Bartlett Township.

She worked at Security State Bank in Deer Creek for 33 years. She was active in the Women's Missionary League, Garden Club and Senior Center and was a Sunday school teacher.

She is survived by her husband; two sons: Terry (Brenda), of Fort Worth, Texas, and Garry (Tina), of Pequot Lakes; two daughters: Carol Boe, of Casper, Wyo., and Linda (Robert) Hagen, of Prior Lake; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles (Sharon) Holm, of Alexandria; two sisters: Marjorie Rach, of Verndale, and Gladys Lorntson, of Silver Bay; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a stepfather, Harold Sommars; a son-in-law, Charles Boe; and two brothers-in-law: Delbert Rach, and James Lorntson.

Casket bearers: Her grandchildren: Kyle and Trent Boe, Ryan and Jason Hagen, Patrick and Jacob Grewe, Lisa Lange, and Emily Mueller.

Funeral services: 11 a.m. today (Saturday), Jan. 10 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Deer Creek, with Rev. Gunard Heikkila officiating.

Interment: Wadena Cemetery.
