Bemidji Area Aglow to meet Oct. 13
BEMIDJI—The Bemidji Area Aglow will next meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at Beltrami Electric, 4111 Technology Drive. The meeting will last to about noon, organizers said.
There will be praise, worship and prayer. Prayers will focus on the upcoming elections and concerns for our country, a release said. Voter information and guides will be available. And as time permits, there will also be an opportunity for sharing short testimonies.
Harvest of Hope event announced
BEMIDJI—The Village of Hope will host the Harvest of Hope, a celebration of families, from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, at Calvary Lutheran Church, 2508 Washington Ave. SE. Free games for children, a story hour, craft table and more will be available. A cornhole tournament is set for 4 p.m.
Pumpkins, baked goods and other items will be for sale. All proceeds will go to the Village of Hope to support families experiencing homelessness.
Solway Lutheran Meatball Dinner on Oct. 14
SOLWAY—Solway Lutheran Church will holds its meatball dinner from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, at the church. The meal also will feature potatoes, gravy and trimmings, and there will be lefse and homemade pies available. There also will be a bake sale and raffle and the country store is open. Free-will offering.
Christian Women's Fall Fundraiser on Oct. 15
BEMIDJI—The Christian Women's fall fundraiser auction will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15 in the community room at the Eagles Club, 1270 Neilson Ave. SE.

New Salem Fall Bazaar on Oct. 20
BEMIDJI—New Salem Lutheran Church will hold its annual Fall Bazaar from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20.
The bazaar includes a bake sale, craft sale and raffles for a quilt, gift baskets and other items. A luncheon of homemade soup, bread, beverage and pumpkin bars for dessert is $6 per person and will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. New Salem is located at 7491 Island View Drive NE in Turtle River, 10 miles north of Bemidji on U.S. Highway 71.
St. Bartholomew's Fall Festival on Oct. 20
BEMIDJI—The St. Bartholomew's annual Fall Festival, including a bake sale, white elephant sale, face painting, and a Sloppy Joe and hot dog lunch, will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20. St. Bartholomew's is at the corner of Irvine Avenue and 18th Street NW.
Trunk-or-Treat event planned
BEMIDJI — Children of all ages are invited to take part in Trunk-or-Treat, a family friendly Halloween event, from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at Bemidji United Methodist Church, 924 Beltrami Ave. NW.
Volunteers from the church will park decorated cars in BUMC's parking lot. Children can go from car to car to collect candy and treats. A costume contest for children will also be held.
Trunk-or-treat is a great alternative to traditional trick-or-treating, a press release said. The event will be held during daylight hours and is perfect for families who don't feel comfortable allowing their children to go door-to-door, the release said. The event is free and open to the public.

Lutefisk and meatball dinner set
BEMIDJI—The annual Lutefisk and Meatball Dinner is set for 4:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, at First Lutheran Church, 900 Bemidji Ave. N.
The cost is $17 for adults, $7 for children age 6-12, and free for children younger than 5. Lutefisk, meatballs, gravy, potatoes, rutabagas, garden vegetables, coleslaw, lefse and pie will all be served. Lefse can be purchased at the church and take-out is available.
