Debs, Puposky churches change service times
DEBS—Starting Sunday, Sept. 2, Our Redeemer's in Puposky and Trinity Lutheran in Debs will change worship times. The schedule change will be for a full year.
Trinity Lutheran will have a 9 a.m. worship service. Coffee will be held after the service on the first Sunday of the month. Our Redeemer's will have a worship service at 10:30 a.m. A potluck will be held after the service on the first Sunday and rolls and coffee will be offered before the service on the third Sunday of the month.
BACM presents The Turtle Island Ensemble
BEMIDJI—The Bemidji Area Church Musicians will feature The Turtle Island Ensemble in its final concert of the Summer Recital Series at noon on Wednesday, Aug. 29, at First Lutheran Church, 900 Bemidji Ave. Performers include Sarah Carlson, piano; Sonja Connell, cello; Jon Bomer, native flute; and Mike Tangen, guitar. Bob Madeson, euphonium, also will be featured.
A luncheon will follow the concert with a price to be announced.
A free-will offering will be received at the door for the scholarship program of the Bemidji Area Church Musicians. For the past 22 years, the free-will offerings have been used to grant scholarships to students beginning their college music careers. Bemidji Baptist Church plans 'old-fashioned carnival'
BEMIDJI—Bemidji Baptist Church will host an "old-fashioned carnival" at 6 p.m., on Wednesday, Aug. 29. The event will include activities such as a "jumpasaurus, ring toss, shooting gallery, cupcake walk, face painting, popcorn, cotton candy, and much more," according to a press release.
